Community Club Auxiliary
Dear Lake Almanor West Residents
On behalf of the LAWCC Auxiliary I wish to welcome you to our community. The Auxiliary has been in existence dating back to 1987. We have seen many changes and much growth in our community and are so happy you have chosen Lake Almanor as your home.
The Auxiliary has a mission statement we hold true to this day: “We will contribute to the social and general welfare of our LAW Community”. This past year we were able to support our community as well as the needs of the Lake Almanor Basin. Some of our accomplishments this past year were: Purchase of new equipment for community sponsored events. Upgrades and kitchen necessities for Unity Grill. Support of materials and merchandise for the Pro Shop. Playground game accessories, bark, and sand at the recreation area. A new Flag Pole, flag and rigging. We host the Community Supper each year in April and continue to support through direct donations to “The Feather River Land Trust”, the golf tournament benefiting Sober Graduation for our area High Schools and other Almanor Basin requests.
The Auxiliary along with the Prattville Fire Auxiliary adopted the “Vial of Life” for our community. This is a wonderful safety for all residents. A universal sticker is placed outside the residence so that in the event an emergency occurs the First Responders know to go to the refrigerator and retrieve a vial which has all medical information for the residents. These are available to each of you, please email me a request and will also be available at the WACC office.
Our social events remain the cornerstone of the community. Throughout the year we sponsor the following community events: Bunco – eight months of the year, Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Welcome Back Dinner in June, Community Annual Meeting in July with an Ice Cream Social & Pancake Breakfast, the following morning. Community Garage Sale, last Saturday in July. Hot August Nights in August. Wine In The Pines in September, Fall Celebration at in November. Watch for announcements for a very special “New Event.”
A bulletin board is located at each of the mailbox kiosks where you will see information regarding upcoming meetings and events. The Lake Almanor Web site is up and running and information can be found there as well. You can also email at any time with questions, feedback or to get involved. We are looking for volunteers to join in the fun and become part of our amazing community.
Your $20 Auxiliary dues paid each year entitle you to receive a Community Directory, reduced costs for events and a group rate of $30 per family for air ambulance services from Enloe Flightcare.
